Welcome to the home of Hercules Cricket.

In this section of the site of the Utrechtse Sportvereniging Hercules devoted to cricket you will find the latest news on what is going on, names of contacts (for touring teams) and a brief look into our history.

Hercules was founded, as a cricket club, on 22 April 1882. We are one of the founding members of the Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB, 1883). In 1897 football was added to the club. In more recent times tennis, five-a-side football and badminton have been added to the sports you can play at Hercules. The addition of the latter two was possible because of our excellent facilities, including indoor and outdoor nets. Also, a goalball section (for the visually impaired) is active, albeit in another location due to the special requirements of this sport.

If you are living in Utrecht (or surrounding towns) and keen to watch or play some cricket, feel free to visit us. To get a taste of cricket life at Hercules, you can always come to one of the practice sessions on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 7 pm. Come and have a look around and meet some of the players. At the moment we field two senior teams on Sunday, and two teams on Saturday. To contact us, click here.

We are happy to welcome teams to Utrecht. Over the years we have had many touring sides visit us. All of them are fondly remembered because of the excellent atmosphere on the field during and good spirits after the game in our own (fully licensed) sports bar, as we can call our newly opened pavilion.
